Creating Lasting School Memories
Senior year is filled with important milestones, and your senior portraits are an opportunity to capture this special moment. Impressionist School Portraits provides each student with a professional yearbook formal portrait, along with optional cap-and-gown and upgraded portrait opportunities. Whether you are preparing for your school’s scheduled Picture Day or selecting a more complete senior session, this page will help you understand what to expect, how to prepare, and how to view and order your portraits.
Senior portraits are photographed at the school on scheduled dates during the summer and fall. Because yearbook deadlines are typically early in the fall, students must complete their yearbook portrait before their school’s published deadline.
Approximately two weeks after your portrait session, you will receive a secure, personalized access code by email and mail. Enter your code in our online gallery to view your proofs and explore available portrait packages, prints, digital images, and specialty products. Senior portraits may be ordered at any time during the school year, and professional retouching is included with all portrait orders.
After reviewing your proofs, be sure to select the image you would like submitted to your school yearbook before the published deadline. Use the button below to submit your selection online, or contact our office at 972-682-6300 for assistance. If a selection is not received by the deadline, Impressionist School Portraits will select an appropriate image and submit it to the yearbook on your behalf.
Senior portraits are typically taken at the school during scheduled summer and fall portrait dates. Families will receive information about available dates and appointment scheduling.
During the summer most sessions are by appointment only. Appointments help us keep sessions running smoothly and minimize wait times. If an appointment is needed we will send that information.
During the school year typically no appointment is needed.
There is no charge for the basic yearbook portrait session. Optional upgraded sessions may be available for students who want additional poses, outfits, or backgrounds.
The yearbook session includes the required formal portraits designated by the school, such as tuxedo, drape, cap and gown, or another school-approved style.
Students should arrive wearing clothing that is easy to change out of and appropriate for any additional casual portraits. Girls may want to wear a tank top or shirt that can easily pull below the shoulders for drape portraits. Boys should wear a plain undershirt for tuxedo portraits.
Yes. We provide the tuxedo jacket, shirt front, tie, drape, cap, gown, and other required formal portrait attire.
Students selecting an upgraded session may usually bring one personal outfit. Clothing should be wrinkle-free and reflect the student’s personality while remaining appropriate for a school portrait.
Not all sessions include casual portraits and are typically only offered during the summer sessions.
Small personal props may be allowed during upgraded sessions, depending on the school and available session time. Examples include musical instruments, sports equipment, letter jackets, or meaningful personal items.
A basic yearbook session generally takes 15-30 minutes. Upgraded sessions take longer depending on the number of outfits, backgrounds, and poses included.
Most schools offer at least one additional senior portrait date during the fall. Students must be photographed before the school’s yearbook deadline.
If you do not get your photograph taken before the yearbook deadline you won’t be included in the senior portrait section of the yearbook.
Online proofs are generally available approximately two weeks after the session. Students and families will receive an access code by email, or through the school.
